Landscapes encompass trees (wood), rocks, mountains, water, shrubs and perennial flowers and grasses. LeGault focuses on landscapes with water, bringer of sustenance and life. Its interaction with the sun (fire element) earth,(rocks) metal, (sky and reflections) and plants determines the environment. Water by itself is "empty" or neutral. Its meeting with the other elements is what determines its nature, whether slow, fast, deep, shallow, warm or cold, along with what type of plants grow up around it.
